
Coordinator General of Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary has underlined the important of not misusing the artificial intelligence (AI).
According to the news headquarters, Choudhary made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform in Tehran on Monday.
About the Tehran event, the official said it was “centered around new technology” and “artificial intelligence.”
“Without cooperation, OIC will go nowhere,” Choudhary noted.
He further criticized misuse of AI in Gaza as it is used for killing others.
“The Tehran declaration” created opportunity for working together, according to the official who described Iran’s role as “central.”
Iran has developed despite various sanctions imposed against the country, he said noting “Iran has achieved technological excellences in every field.”
Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology hosted the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform with the participation of high representatives and ministers from over 20 countries.
The two-day event concluded with Iranian Minister Hossein Simayi Saraf presenting a declaration emphasizing AI cooperation among Islamic nations.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the international scientific center of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology Farhad Yazdandoost said that the next Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform will be held in the Arab Muslim country of Saudi Arabia.
