Tehran OIC-15 Dialogue Platform key step towards preparing scientific cooperation among Islamic states

The Permanent Secretariat Head at the COMSTECH Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities (CINVU) has underlined the importance of promotion of coherent cooperation in the area of artificial intelligence (AI) among the Islamic countries, stressing the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform underway in Tehran is an important step towards preparing a comprehensive document on scientific cooperation among the Islamic countries.

 

According to the news headquarters, Ali Karimi Morid, who is also Strategic and Executive Deputy at the Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation COMSTECH Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities, made the remarks at the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform in Tehran on Sunday.

 

As to the Tehran event, Morid said it is to make a decision about the future of higher education in the area of AI and about the preparation of a comprehensive document on joint cooperation with regard to the needs, challenges, and modern technologies.

 

He says, the world countries endeavor to develop a coherent plan to make a link between universities, research centers, and the knowledge-based companies and the technological developments in various fields, particularly in the area of AI.  

 

Elsewhere in his remarks, the official said an exhibition on technological and scientific achievements is being held on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform.

 

The exhibition showcases the latest achievements in robotics, electric vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellite, engineering, electronics, and, medicine.

 

Further, the official appreciated the Islamic countries for seeking to increase their AI-related scientific products.

 

The Iranian capital is hosting the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform on May 18-19 with the participation of ministers and high representatives from over 20 countries of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation.
